Laminate Veneers Treatment Process
Consultation
Even though oral examination is needed for the final decision, we know how important for our patients to have an idea about the process before coming to İstanbul. So, initial consultation will be done through your in mouth photos and dental x-ray. Dentist will examine your in-mouth photos. If there is any condition which might prevent Veneers, such as periodontal disease or grinding, dentist may not suggest veneers. However, if the teeth are in healthy and there are no other problems other than cometic demands of patient, dentist will make the most suitable plan for patient.
Once you are in the clinic, you’ll have oral consultation with the dentist to decide if veneers are suitable for you. During consultation, dentist will hear your demands about the shape and color of your veneers. Our specialist dentist will also make some suggestions to obtain the natural look.
Teeth Preparation & 3D Scan
Once everything is decided, dentist will start with the preparation of the teeth. Following preparation, doctor will take the impression- a 3D scan of your teeth- with digital scanning to send to the laboratory. Veneers will be produced within 2-3 days. Meanwhile, doctor will make temporary veneers for you to use. Using 3D scan will help providing precision as it captures highly accurate digital model of the teeth. It also speeds up the manufacturing process.
Cementing the veneers
Once the veneers are ready, doctor will bond the veneers. After removing your temporary veneers, dentist will clean and polish the area to have a better hold. After making sure everything is ready, dentist will place the veneers with a special cementation. Dentist will use special blue light to ‘accelerate’ the cementation process and make it bond the veneer tightly. Remained cement will be removed by the dentist and you’ll have your natural looking veneers.
Aftercare
Despite popular belief, dental veneers need the same care as our teeth do. So, daily brushing and flossing is enough to take care of your veneers. However, it shouldn’t be avoided as the veneers might go through the same changes like our teeth. Consuming soft foods for the first couple of days is suggested as you’ll need some time to get used to your veneers.
